Clara Lee
CNA Presenter
Clara presents business news for CNA’s ‘Asia Now’ bulletin.
She began her career at CNA on the Singapore Desk, where she covered finance and manpower issues. Clara delivered live reports on the Singapore Presidential Election in 2023 and the Singapore Budget in 2024.
Outside of her beat, Clara is passionate about the sports scene. Most recently, her story on a local flag football team was one of four stories shortlisted by the 2024 Singapore Sports Awards for the ‘Most Inspiring Sports Story’ award.
As a journalist, she has covered sustainability topics, sometimes incorporating augmented reality graphics into her work. Her interest in social issues has brought her to unexpected places, including Singapore’s Changi Prison and Pulau Ubin.
Her reporting journey has also taken her abroad. Clara was stationed in Malaysia for a month to cover the 2022 General Election, where she interviewed Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, and other high-ranking officials. A year later, she reported from Abu Dhabi and Dubai during then-Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s official visit.
Before joining CNA, Clara was a correspondent for Phoenix Satellite TV in Singapore. Reporting in Mandarin, she covered a broad range of significant events, including the 2020 Singapore General Election.
Clara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where she was awarded the Nanyang Scholarship. She also earned her Master’s degree in International Relations from NTU.
