Jenna Courtin-Clarins’ guide to great skin

Who better to share legit look-good tips than this Clarins heiress?

I start my mornings with lemon water to clear my system. If I have time, I apply a thin layer of the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm as a perk-me-up mask and let it sit while I sip my coffee.

The secret to cleansing correctly is to do it consistently. My grandfather used to say you can’t put cream on skin that isn’t clean, so I make sure to remove traces of makeup and pollution twice daily with the Gentle Foaming Cleanser. I complete my regime with the Toning Lotion with Camomile, Double Serum and Multi-Active creams, for day and night. And since I’m in my 30s, I’ve become more diligent with eye cream.

To maximise the benefits of a product warm it in your hands before patting it onto skin. This helps amplify absorption and boost blood circulation.

For a thorough skin reboot my secret is a one-two punch consisting of mild exfoliation via the Gentle Refiner, topped off with the SOS Pure Rebalancing Clay Mask to purge pores of any residue grime.

Body care is important so I use the Exfoliating Body Scrub once a week to rid my limbs of dead skin and to prep my subsequent salves. I moisturise daily with Renew-Plus Body Serum – it’s deliciously lightweight and perfect for humid weather.

To keep my skin in tip-top condition I try to sleep well, exercise regularly and eat healthily. The last is always difficult especially when I am travelling because I’ll want to try everything! I drink lots of water but avoid bread and salty foods. I love working out with my father, with whom I completed a swimming competition in France last summer.

Before I go to sleep I nourish my lips with Hydraquench Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm. I also soothe my fingers and cuticles with Hand and Nail Treatment Cream; I love how its aroma reminds me of my childhood.

I wear gloves and socks to bed after massaging in my hand and foot cream. It’s the same with my hair. I apply a leave-on mask and wrap my hair in a towel or tuck it into a shower cap. Yup, I sleep with a shower cap!
