Today, as part of the Purple Parade Leadership Programme, and as a facilitator in the resilience programme Control Your Controllables, Joan also helps motivate others — the abled as well as the differently-abled — to believe in their ability to achieve their goals. Children suffering from burn injuries can now receive faster and more integrated care through the launch of Singapore's first dedicated paediatric Burn Centre at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The centre comes after the hospital has consistently seen up to 400 young patients with burns annually.
