CNA938 Rewind - MOH’s addendum: Enhancing support for seniors as population ages
The Health Ministry’s (MOH) addendum commits to keeping healthcare high-quality, accessible and affordable as Singapore faces pressures from an ageing population, rising chronic disease burdens, and faster medical innovation. Capacity will be expanded significantly by 2030: more hospital beds, new polyclinics, added nursing home and elder-care facilities, and stronger support structures for seniors who wish to age in place. Andrea Heng and Elakeyaa Selvaraji delve deeper into the addendum with Professor Su Aw, Assistant Professor, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at NUS.
