Daily Cuts - Israel to go ahead with planned ground assault on Rafah

The war cabinet in Tel Aviv is meeting to discuss how to execute its planned military operation for Rafah, where the majority of those fleeing the Israel-Hamas war are sheltering. Meanwhile, truce talks appear to have picked up, although Prof Amin Saikal,Adjunct Senior Fellow, S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, NTU and Emeritus Professor of Middle Eastern & Central Asian Studies, Australia National University, tells Andrea Heng and Joel Chua on Asia First that a quick solution is not imminent.
