Kahlo’s work is just one of the many highlights of the ongoing NGS exhibition Tropical: Stories from Southeast Asia and Latin America. Teo will highlight some of the over 200 paintings, sculptures, prints and immersive installations on display at Tropical, which she co-curated.

Melanie Oliveiro speaks with Singapore streetwear designer Mark Ong aka Mr Sabotage (SBTG) who’ll talk about his involvement at this year’s Sneaker Con SEA held at Resorts World Sentosa. Sneaker Con SEA  2024 is a celebration of sneaker and streetwear culture with on-stage panel discussions, a customised lineup of over 200 global and local iconic brands, and a gathering of 150+ traders and passionate sneaker collectors from around the globe. Ong will talk about how he will design exclusive limited-edition Kintsugi Air Jordan 1 highs, crafted from vintage scarves and bandanas, embodying the artistry of Kintsugi, which is the Japanese process of repairing ceramics traditionally with lacquer and gold. Ong will also talk about how he is collaborating with RWS in designing 22 pairs of limited-edition sneakers for RWS as a commemoration of their partnership. RWS and SBTG will auction off two pairs of the limited-edition sneakers and donate all proceeds to the students from Temasek Polytechnic (Mark Ong’s alma mater).
