A Letter To Myself - How an unexpected phone call pulled Warren Sheldon Humphries back from the brink
Warren Sheldon Humphries was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease in 2020, when he was in his early fifties. It's a neurological condition that eventually took away his ability to walk and even hold a pen. Amidst the emotional turmoil, he was contemplating ending it all when a close friend called him out of the blue. The unexpectedly firm conversation was a turning point that led him to seek mental health support and gave him a newfound sense of purpose. Sheldon is today an advocate for fellow persons with disabilities, a paracounsellor, docent at the Enabling Village, and a Community and Partnerships Manager with a social enterprise.
