Could China take Taiwan by force?(Updated: )
On July 18 2019, President US Donald Trump approved a US$2.2-billion arms deal to Taiwan, and in August - the sale of US$8-billion worth of F-16V fighter jets. But has this altered the balance of power with China? China regards Taiwan as a ‘rogue’ province to be unified by force if necessary, but can it afford to do so?
