Ceremonial drummer Ashley Cole, 23, of the British Coldstream Guards, helping a resident of The Singapore Cheshire Home to try on his bearskin cap. He is in town with two other Coldstream Guards for the Queen’s birthday party on Thursday. The Coldstreamers are the oldest regiment in the British Army, and they hold both ceremonial and combat roles. Yesterday, they visited disabled residents at the home, which was founded by British Royal Air Force Pilot Lord Leonard Cheshire in 1956. PHOTO: JASON QUAH
