SINGAPORE: Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums for all categories closed lower in the latest bidding exercise on Wednesday (Jun 5).

For Category A cars, or those 1,600cc and below with horsepower not exceeding 130bhp, premiums closed at S$88,200 (US$65,480), down from S$92,700 in the last exercise.

Premiums for larger and more powerful cars in Category B fell to S$100,607 from S$105,689.

COEs for commercial vehicles, which include goods vehicles and buses, fell to S$70,589 from S$72,001 in the previous bidding exercise.

Motorcycle premiums closed at S$8,989, down from S$9,311 in the last exercise.

Open category COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type but end up being used mainly for large cars, fell to S$101,600 from S$105,002.

A total of 3,722 bids were received, with a quota of 2,579 COEs available.

There will be 15,104 COEs for the May to July period – a 2.7 per cent increase from the 14,707 in the previous quarter.

The quota for Category A is up by 3 per cent, while COEs in Category B is up by 1.3 per cent. There is also 12.9 per cent more COEs for vehicles in Category E or the Open Category.

For Category C, the COE supply has increased by 5.3 per cent, while the quota for motorcycles in Category D remained unchanged.
