SINGAPORE: Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums closed mixed in the latest bidding exercise on Wednesday (Jul 3), changing little from the last exercise.

For Category A cars, or those 1,600cc and below with horsepower not exceeding 130bhp, premiums closed at S$91,001 (US$67,100), up from S$90,889 in the last exercise.

Premiums for larger and more powerful cars in Category B fell to S$100,901 from S$102,334.

COEs for commercial vehicles, which include goods vehicles and buses, rose to S$70,001 from S$69,900 in the previous bidding exercise.

Motorcycle premiums closed at S$8,900, down from S$9,002 in the last exercise.

Open category COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type but end up being used mainly for large cars, rose to S$100,889 from S$100,000.

A total of 3,530 bids were received, with a quota of 2,545 COEs available.

There will be 15,104 COEs for the May to July period – a 2.7 per cent increase from the 14,707 in the previous quarter.

The quota for Category A is up by 3 per cent, while the quota for Category B is up by 1.3 per cent. The quota for vehicles in Category E, or the Open category, is also up – by 12.9 per cent.

For Category C, the COE supply has increased by 5.3 per cent, while the quota for motorcycles in Category D remained unchanged.
