CPF e-payment service restored

SINGAPORE — The e-payment service on the website of the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board, believed to be down since noon yesterday (Dec 28), was restored this morning.  

"Members can now use the e-payment service as a payment option for their online transactions on the CPF website," the CPF said in a news release today. "All other CPF e-services remained available throughout and were unaffected." 

Shortly after the e-payment service went down yesterday, the CPF posted a notice on its website alerting members of the problem and pointed them to other payment options such as AXS and GIRO. 

In response to queries yesterday, a CPF Board spokesperson said the e-payment service makes up less than 0.5 per cent of online transactions daily. The e-payment service is used to repay education loans or make top-ups to their Medisave, for example. Apologising for the inconvenience caused, the spokesperson added: “We are working to resume the website e-payment service as soon as possible.”

Earlier this month, the CPF Board saw much of its online services disrupted for days, before they were fully restored on Dec 19.
