A day on Sentosa’s record-breaking inflatable obstacle course

SINGAPORE — Sprawled across the three beaches at Sentosa are 11 inflatable installations, and taken together, they represent the Largest Inflatable Bouncer and Largest Inflatable Obstacle Course, according to the Singapore Book of Records.
The Largest Inflatable Bouncer, measuring 33m by 8m by 8m, and Largest Inflatable Obstacle Course measuring 3.2km, were part of the BounceOFF! race held on Saturday (Mar 12) and more than 200 children and youths from various voluntary welfare organisations (VWOs) were invited to take part in the race and accompanying activities.
These include beneficiaries from Singapore Children’s Society, Association for Person with Special Needs (APSN), Children’s Aid Society and Singapore Association for the Deaf, and the race was organised by Mediacorp and Nucleus Events Production.
Member of Parliament Sitoh Yih Pin, CEO of NTUC Link Tony Tan and Head of Family (English) Segment of Mediacorp Debra Soon were present at the event.
More than 6,000 people, including participants from the bazaar and race, were there for the event. The first race flagged-off at 9am, then subsequently at hourly intervals with the last flag-off at 4pm.
To conquer 11 gigantic inflatables over sand and tarmac, participants had to jump, climb, crawl, balance and bounce from one giant inflatable bouncer to another.
For those not participating in the race, there were also bazaars and carnivals set up at Siloso Beach for them to take part in.
Additionally, 14 more inflatable bouncers were assembled at Silosa beach catering to family with children that could not take part in the race.
Other activities at the carnival included Water & Land Zorb Balls, Bouncy Castle, Inflatable Rock Wall, Giant Foam Pool, Human Foosball and other games suitable for these children. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
