SINGAPORE: Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates will increase by S$1 (US$0.77) at three expressway locations at specified time periods from Sep 9 to manage peak-hour congestion.

The locations of these gantries are:

  • Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) after Jurong Town Hall towards City (set of three gantries)
  • Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) Eastbound before exit to Central Boulevard and at slip road from Marina Boulevard (set of two gantries)
  • Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) after Defu Flyover

The increase rates will apply at certain times in the morning and evening peak hours. The details are as follows:

Announcing this on Monday (Sep 2), the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said the decision was based on its monitoring of traffic conditions in July, adding that traffic was found to have built up at various stretches of expressways.

"With these adjustments, the number of locations and timeslots charged is still lower than the number charged pre-COVID," LTA said.

"LTA will continue to monitor traffic speeds and congestion levels closely and assess if ERP rates need to be further adjusted."

The KPE gantry after Defu Flyover is the location with the highest ERP rates. Between 8.35am and 8.55am, drivers currently pay an ERP charge of S$6.
