SINGAPORE — Here's a look at what's happening on the ground on the final day of campaigning for the General Election ahead of Cooling Off day tomorrow (Sept 10).
7pm: Final night of rallies
From 6pm: Preparations for the 15 rallies tonight is underway.
From 3pm: PAP Nee Soon GRC team holds press conference, RP cancels rally at Radin Mas SMC
The People's Action Party team for Nee Soon GRC today gave a wrap-up for their campaign over the hustings period. Team anchor K Shanmugam described the past nine days as a good, satisfying and interesting campaign and said that he was confident that his team had done its best.
During the press conference, Mr Shanmugam also repeated a call for the opposition to be honest, and give specifics on how their proposals are going to be funded and which segment of the population will have to pay for them.

Meanwhile, a scheduled rally by The Reform Party for Radin Mas SMC tonight was cancelled. It was originally due to take place at the Delta Hockey Pitch, 900 Tiong Bahru Road. The RP will still be holding another planned rally at the field in front of Blk 982 Buangkok Crescent for Ang Mo Kio GRC.
From 10.30am: The PAP Marine Parade GRC team holds press conference, WP East Coast GRC team weighs chances
Minister for Social and Family Development Tan Chuan-Jin outlined four broad issues that he said Singaporeans should consider in the upcoming polls on Friday (Sept 11), saying that voters should think about how and why it is important to keep Singapore relevant, the importance of strong leadership, the type of political system, as well as the kind of society and nation they want.

Meanwhile, the Workers' Party's team for East Coast GRC, led by Mr Gerald Giam, is hoping that the "tremendous" support from residents during the hustings will translate into votes come Polling Day.

SPP candidate Lina Chiam is out meeting residents in Potong Pasir SMC.
The National Solidarity Party Sembawang GRC team out on a walkabout since 7am on the last day of campaigning.

The Singapore Democratic Alliance secretary-general Desmond Lim was spotted handing out flyers to residents at Pasir Ris MRT station and then at Punggol Central. He is part of a six-member team contesting for Pasir Ris-Punggol Group Representation Constituency (GRC).
