Since he was called to the Bar in 1971 after graduating from the then-University of Singapore, Mr Subhas Anandan has handled more than 2,500 cases, including many of the most sensational ones:

Anthony Ler talked a 15-year-old boy into murdering his wife, Annie Leong, by slashing her neck and chest. Ler was hanged.

Vegetable packer Took Leng How lured eight-year-old Huang Na to a storeroom in the Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre before murdering her, then stuffed her body into a box and dumped it at Telok Blangah Hill Park. Took failed in appealing against his capital sentence, but the case saw a rare split decision.

Factory supervisor Leong Siew Chor killed and chopped up his lover, China national Liu Hong Mei, 22, and strewed her remains along the banks of Kallang River. He was sentenced to death.

‘One-eyed Dragon’ Tan Chor Jin gunned down nightclub owner Lim Hock Soon at point-blank range in the latter’s apartment at Serangoon Avenue 4 in the early hours of Feb 15. He was sentenced to death.
