SINGAPORE — A 60-year-old man was arrested on Saturday (June 12) evening for the attempted murder of a 52-year-old man, who was found with stab wounds at a car park along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3.

The police did not name the suspect in a news release on Sunday. He fled the scene and was arrested two hours after the police were alerted to a case of assault there at about 9.35pm, the police added.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the two men knew each other and that the suspect had allegedly attacked the other man with a knife.

The alleged victim was taken in a conscious state to the hospital.

The suspect will be charged on Monday with attempted murder under Section 307 of the Penal Code.

If convicted, he could be sentenced to life imprisonment or jailed for up to 20 years and fined, or both.
