SINGAPORE – A man, 20, was found lying in a pool of blood, with multiple injuries, on Friday (Aug 12) afternoon on the third floor of Northpoint Shopping Mall in Yishun.
The police said preliminary investigations showed an attempted suicide had occurred. Investigations are still ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said that a call for ambulance assistance was made at 1.22pm, and it dispatched one ambulance.
The man has since been sent to the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
An eyewitness who only wanted to be known as Vito told TODAY that paramedics on scene tried to check if he was conscious, but he did not appear to be responsive. The 16-year-old student added that a large crowd of around 30 to 40 shoppers had gathered round the area, which is outside the Cantine food court.
In response to media queries, Kopitiam, which runs the Cantine food court, said that the incident did not take place inside the food court premises, but the man did collapse at the foodcourt's entrance.
