SINGAPORE — The new Seletar Aerospace Flyover and surrounding road connections will open on May 16 at 5am, said the Land Transport Authority (LTA) today (April 4).
The flyover is a dual three-lane interchange directly connecting the Seletar Aerospace Park and surrounding roads to the expressway network. The network comprises the Tampines Expressway (TPE), Seletar Expressway (SLE) and Central Expressway (CTE).
The LTA said that the new interchange will have the capacity to support future developments in the Seletar Aerospace Park and the Sengkang West Industrial area. Those living in the area will also have direct connections to the TPE using the new Sengkang West Road. Previously, motorists had to use the one-lane Jalan Kayu to reach the expressway network.
“Traffic conditions along Jalan Kayu are expected to improve,” the LTA added.
Since 2012, the LTA has been carrying out several road improvement projects to improve the connectivity between Yishun Town and the expressway network. In January, Yishun Avenue 8, a new alternative road link serving motorists travelling from Yishun to the CTE, was opened.
Works to expand the existing interchange connecting the TPE, SLE and CTE with Seletar West Link are projected to finish by the end of 2015, LTA said.
