SINGAPORE — Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note7, will be available in Singapore from Aug 20 at S$1,168, with pre-orders commencing on Wednesday (Aug 3) at 12pm.
Consumers can pre-order the device at the three major telcos, Samsung Experience stores, major consumer electronics stores Best Denki, Courts, Gain City, Hachi and Harvey Norman as well as Lazada Singapore. Pre-orders at Samsung Galaxy Studio will commence on the same day at 7pm.
Customers are required to place a S$50 deposit per device when they pre-order at the Samsung Experience stores or the Samsung Galaxy Studio. Those who have successfully pre-ordered the Note7 will receive their phones and a complimentary Note7 Lens Kit, worth S$198 a day before its official launch.
The Galaxy Note7 was announced at Samsung’s UNPACKED 2016 event in New York on Tuesday. The Android 6.0.1 device features a 5.7-inch dual-edge QHD SUPER AMOLED screen, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and 3,500mAh battery capacity. Other features include dual hybrid SIM support, a 12-megapixel rear camera with a f1.7 aperture, IP68-certified water/dust resistance and MicroSD card support of up to 256GB.
In addition to fingerprint scanning, the Galaxy Note7 is equipped with new iris recognition technology, offering a secure biometric authentication system that can be used to unlock the home screen, sign in easily to websites as well as authenticate Samsung Pay to make mobile payments. Coupled with the Samsung Knox security platform, the Galaxy Note7 provides a new level of security and convenience, the smartphone maker said.
At launch, the Note7 will come in three shades: Black Onyx, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium,
Samsung last announced its flagship Galaxy S7 and S7 edge devices at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona in late February.
