Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank said he did not want to worry about the league table this early in the Premier League season but added that fans should "dream and hope" after a bright start to their campaign with three wins in four matches.

Spurs, who finished 17th last season, are tied on points with second-placed Arsenal in the table after four games each. Frank's men are hoping to pick up another win when they visit Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

Asked when he would look at the points table, Frank jokingly suggested April in Friday's pre-match press conference.

"I’m trying to focus on ourselves and our performances and what we can do. It’s so easy to get dragged into something you can’t control. The fans should dream and hope, that is what football is about," the manager said.

"I also dream, but I’m a little bit closer to the action, so I need to stay level-headed and focused on the next training... and then do what I can to try to win tomorrow."

Frank said Spurs striker Dominic Solanke, who is sidelined with an ankle injury, has returned to training but will not be available on Saturday.

"The positive thing is he is back on the grass and has been for three or four days. He is progressing slowly, but forward," Frank said about Solanke, the club's second-highest scorer last season.

Defender Kota Takai, out since July with a foot injury, is expected to return to training with the group by Monday, Frank added.

But the manager, who took over in June, said his focus remained on making the most of the good start to the season, with Spurs also off to a winning start in the Champions League with Tuesday's 1-0 victory over Villarreal.

"So many things have happened and it seems like I have been here for longer. But you are also in that moment where constantly things are happening and you are just dealing with it, putting processes in place," he said.

"We and the team are in a good place but I don’t want to look too far ahead or behind. We need to stay now in the moment and do everything we can to win tomorrow."
