Swimming: Toh Wei Soong clinches silver at 2022 Commonwealth Games

SINGAPORE: Toh Wei Soong clinched silver in the men’s 50m freestyle S7 final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games on Monday (Aug 1) night local time.
At the Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Birmingham, Toh clocked a time of 29.10. The event was won by Australia’s Matthew Levy (28.85), while South Africa's Christian Sadie (29.78) took bronze.
Toh claimed a bronze in the same event at the last edition of the Games in 2018.
At last year’s Paralympics, Toh finished seventh in the 50m freestyle S7 final and fourth in the 50m butterfly S7 final. He set new national records in both events.
This is Singapore’s second medal in the pool at this edition of the Games after Teong Tzen Wei’s silver in the men’s 50m butterfly.
