Pakistan school roof collapse kills 28; more deaths feared
At least 27 students, most younger than 13, and a teacher were killed when a school roof collapsed during classes in Peshawar, northwestern Pakistan, on Thursday (Oct 15).
Emergency workers pulled bloodied students from the rubble at the privately run Al-Khair Education Center. At least 45 children had been rescued, with more feared trapped beneath the debris.
A rescue official said the roof of an upper floor gave way, bringing down the ceiling onto students below and causing two storeys of the school building to collapse.
