Abdul Muhaimin Abdul Malik on Workplace Fairness (Dispute Resolution) Bill

The Workplace Fairness (Dispute Resolution) Bill seeks to establish a crucial mechanism for individuals to seek recourse against workplace discrimination, said MP Abdul Muhaimin Abdul Malik. Speaking in parliament on Tuesday (Nov 4), he raised several concerns on the implementation of this dispute resolution framework. One of them relates to representation in the mediation process and the need to reconsider some of the regulatory restrictions placed on workers. Another concern revolves around the time limit and extensions. He called for a discretionary approach in accepting late applications if there are reasonable grounds.
