AI algorithm that increases robotic knee replacement surgery's accuracy, efficiency awarded patent

A global patent has been awarded to an AI algorithm that helps make robotic knee replacement surgery more accurate and efficient. It was designed by the orthopaedic surgery team at Singapore's Alexandra Hospital. About 200 patients have benefited from it since 2023. Dr Glen Liau, Orthopaedic Surgery Consultant at Alexandra Hospital, and House Officer Dr Matthew Ng discuss the need to develop an AI driven approach to knee surgery.
