Amy Khor on Clean Tables Campaign at hawker centres
Since enforcement action against diners not clearing their tables at hawker centres began in September, there has been one written warning and no fines issued, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Amy Khor told Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 3). With enforcement to start at coffee shops and food courts from January, and an ongoing manpower crunch in the cleaning sector, Dr Khor said owners of premises and cleaning companies can apply for a grant to improve productivity and adopt technology such as autonomous cleaning robots and food waste digesters.
