Amy Khor on markings for designated smoking areas

Owners of premises have to ensure that there are clear markings on Designated Smoking Areas (DSAs), using stickers or other forms of permanent marking. In the past year, the National Environment Agency (NEA) has received one instance of feedback regarding the clarity of markings within the Orchard Road No Smoking Zone. NEA conducted checks on the condition of all DSAs in the zone and engaged the owners of the premises to rectify the situation if needed. It will continue to conduct regular checks and engage owners to ensure that they conform with the guidelines. Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Amy Khor said this in reply to an MP's questions in Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 22).
