Amy Khor on rear-view safety for heavy vehicles
All heavy goods vehicles and buses are required to install devices that cover blind spots and rear-view areas. This includes blind-spot mirrors and camera monitoring systems such as rear-view cameras. The aim is to ensure that drivers have sufficient field of vision and awareness of people nearby. Senior Minister of State for Transport Amy Khor said this in Parliament on Tuesday (Jan 10). She was responding to an MP’s question on whether there will be a rule for commercial trucks and buses to have rear-view cameras installed to prevent accidents happening to workers when the vehicles are reversing.
