Andre Low on Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill

The Workers’ Party supports fundamental protections for victims of online harm introduced in the Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill. However, it proposed amendments to not weaken the bill but sharpen it, said NCMP Andre Low. The changes aim to ensure that enforcement powers rest on evidence, not suspicion, with safeguards for legitimate discourse as well as independent judicial oversight. Mr Low outlined the details in parliament on Wednesday (Nov 5).
