Ang Wei Neng on Land Titles (Strata) (Amendment) Bill
Relaxing the collective sales thresholds for older private homes is timely and necessary as it gives owners, especially elderly ones, a better chance at relief if an ageing development has become increasingly difficult and expensive to maintain. MP Ang Wei Neng made this point in parliament on Tuesday (Sep 8). However, he raised concerns including the proposed halving of the time for collective sales committees to obtain signatures to the agreement, from 12 months to six. He suggested allowing larger developments to apply for an extension if they face genuine practical difficulties.
