Ang Wei Neng on Private Security Industry (Amendment) Bill

06:39 Min

MP Ang Wei Neng welcomed measures to improve protection for security officers, noting that 40 per cent of those who took part in a survey last year said they had suffered some form of abuse. However, he said the officers must in turn not abuse that protection. He also asked about a clause in the Private Security Industry (Amendment) Bill that places the onus on a person accused of harassing a security officer to justify his actions. Mr Ang spoke in Parliament on Tuesday (Oct 5).
