Budget 2021 debate: Liang Eng Hwa on 'many doses' of reassurance and support

Budget 2021 offers many doses of reassurance and support, said MP Liang Eng Hwa. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 24), he said the resources from the war chest and firepower built up over the decades have helped to save lives and livelihoods. Mr Liang said it is timely and prudent to start tapering down to manage the overall costs, as well as to focus on becoming the "early movers" in seizing new opportunities. He expressed concerns with the impact of an impending GST hike and called for continued support for affordable healthcare, housing, education and transport.
