Budget 2022 debate: Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim on facing future challenges
Singapore is “not out of the woods yet” when it comes to COVID-19 and must also grapple with continuing global economic uncertainty especially in light of the crisis in Ukraine, MP Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim said in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 1). He urged the country to strengthen its institutions and relations with the rest of the world to face these challenges. He also said Singaporeans must be made secure and confident to face a post-COVID world, such as by maximising everyone’s potential and improving retirement security. Mr Zhulkarnain outlined three ways to keep future Budget deficits in check - by working hard, spending smart and saving more.
