Budget 2024 debate: Foo Mee Har on cost pressures and retirement adequacy
Helping Singaporeans cope with rising costs is a worthy policy, but it must be balanced against the risk of prolonging inflationary pressures, said MP Foo Mee Har in Parliament on Monday (Feb 26). Ms Foo also highlighted the need to sharpen Singapore’s competitiveness, as well as ensure retirement adequacy for citizens. She wanted to know how the Government projects revenue and expenditure to ensure a level of predictability. She also asked about the rate of drawdown on the various funds, as well as how the Government determines from which sources its expenditure should be funded.
