Budget 2024 debate: Mark Lee on a conducive environment for business competitiveness

17:15 Min

A balanced approach to progress is not enough to pursue growth for its own sake, said NMP Mark Lee. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Feb 26), he said growth must be sustainable, inclusive and even resilient to the tests of time. He suggested several ways to do so. These include giving more emphasis to workplace training and help for small- and medium-sized enterprises to support new technologies. Businesses, on their part, can work closely with the Government to identify and unlock untapped manpower pockets, said Mr Lee.
