Budget 2025 debate: Jamus Lim seeks clarification from Heng Swee Keat
In parliament on Thursday (Feb 27), MP Jamus Lim sought clarification from Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat on funding by the National Research Foundation (NRF). He made an appeal to the government to expand projects funded by the NRF to fields of inquiry such as the social sciences, humanities and liberal arts. In his response, DPM Heng stated that the NRF also funds some areas of research related to how science and technology may be deployed, citing research in the field of ageing as one such example.
