Budget 2025 debate: Sharael Taha on building on continuity while adapting for the future
Budget 2025 is the first under the new leadership of Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and the 4G team and the transition has gone smoothly - “no mean feat”, especially in view of what has happened in other countries, said MP Sharael Taha. He noted that political stability is the cornerstone of Singapore’s success, shaping the country’s economic growth, social policies and diplomatic standing. In planning for the future, he said the government must continue to take Singaporeans’ views into account, working together to continuously refine and improve policies. In parliament on Thursday (Feb 27), Mr Sharael also spoke on the importance of new moves in the Budget to ensure Singapore’s continuing growth as an air hub and to secure its energy future.
