Budget 2026 debate: Sharael Taha on competitiveness, inclusive growth and digital for good
Singapore’s response to a changed world must rest on three pillars - competitiveness, inclusive growth and digital for good. If done right, it will allow the nation to remain competitive, relevant in a global market and united as a society. MP Sharael Taha said this in parliament on Wednesday (Feb 25). He added that AI must strengthen industries, uplift small- and medium-sized enterprises, empower seniors, open doors for graduates and protect the vulnerable, amongst many others. He also said that above all, the government’s strategy must translate into better lives, and good jobs that are higher-value, skills-based, fairly paid and future-resilient.
