Cai Yinzhou on Veterinary Practice Bill
The Veterinary Practice Bill strengthens animal welfare by ensuring that vets are held to high professional standards and builds public trust through mandatory licensing and clearer processes for managing feedback and complaints, said MP Cai Yinzhou. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Apr 8), he highlighted the “stark” supply-demand gap and wanted to know how the government would attract and retain talent in the vet industry. He also asked if it would consider providing targeted vet subsidies for specific groups, including pet rescue and shelters, guide dogs for the visually impaired and therapy animals.
