Cassandra Lee on Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill
The Online Safety Commission is vested with the authority to issue directions and orders to online service providers, communicators and administrators, while victims can turn to civil courts and remedies for redress. In the age of AI, such protections have never been more important, said MP Cassandra Lee. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Nov 5), she wanted to know how the government plans to work with the platforms to enable speedy takedown of harmful content. Turning to the issue of anonymity, she suggested a more victim-centric approach by introducing automatic redaction, subject to judicial discretion.
