Chan Chun Sing on COVID-19 vaccination requirements for schools

COVID-19 vaccination will not be a requirement for physical attendance in pre-schools and primary schools. Education Minister Chan Chun Sing said there are no plans for such a requirement. Speaking in reply to Parliamentary questions on Monday (Jan 10), he said the pace, extent and approach towards resuming school activities would depend on factors such as vaccination rates and the overall national posture. He gave the assurance that students who have vaccine side effects or vaccination appointments during school hours will be excused from school. They will also get help for missed lessons and work. He urged parents to get their children vaccinated as early as possible.
