Chan Chun Sing warns drones and new tech could fuel global instability
Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing says recent conflicts have shown how weaker actors can challenge major powers through cheaper and more scalable technologies such as drones. Speaking at the Middle East Institute conference in Singapore, he warned that weakening deterrence could encourage more aggressive actions by states and non-state actors. Mr Chan also called for updated international rules to protect critical underwater infrastructure and stressed the importance of avoiding strategic miscalculations. Nasyrah Rohim reports.
