Cheng Li Hui on Building a Healthier SG
General practitioners (GPs) can play a much more prominent role in people’s overall well-being and the focus on primary care in the Healthier SG plan should lead to stronger rapport and trust between GPs and patients, said MP Cheng Li Hui in Parliament on Wednesday (Oct 5). Sharing stories of the challenges faced by seniors, dementia patients and caregivers in her constituency, she highlighted the importance of day care centres and called on GPs to come on board as care coordinators, and for Primary Care Networks to play a bigger role in such centres under Healthier SG.
