Cheng Li Hui on Singapore’s COVID-19 response
Singapore needs to be better and faster, as well as prepare in "peace time", before the next outbreak occurs, said MP Cheng Li Hui. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 21), she also said it is apparent that the Government cannot do everything. She stressed the need for society and the community to “stand up and take action”. Non-governmental organisations should also step forward, she said. Ms Cheng said this is how the whole of society mobilises to deal with a crisis. “The cycle continues. We must now begin to prepare for the next contingency, change what we must, tweak what is needed and maintain what continues to make sense,” she said.
