Choo Pei Ling on Health Information Bill

09:43 Min

The Health Information Bill is a landmark piece of legislation - not just about technology or compliance but also about trust, said MP Choo Pei Ling. It is essential for Singapore’s transition from hospital-centric care to community-based care, she added. Speaking in parliament on Monday (Jan 12), she focused on four areas and sought clarifications on several aspects of the bill. These are supporting community health care practitioners and general practitioners in onboarding to the National Electronic Health Record system, improving data transmission between government hospitals and the community sector, strengthening support for allied health professionals, and addressing patients’ concerns about data protection.
