Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 4: Lim Biow Chuan on pricing of cleaner energy cars and safe disposal of EV batteries

Singapore must take a holistic view on the pricing of cleaner energy cars to encourage more drivers to make the switch, said MP Lim Biow Chuan. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 3), he proposed lowering taxes on electric or hybrid cars. He also urged the Government to look into the disposal of spent or used batteries of electric vehicles so that Singapore will not end up with an environmental hazard.
