Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 4: Hazel Poa on through-train programme to bypass PSLE

04:16 Min

PSLE remains the most stressful examination for local parents and students despite changes in assessment, said NCMP Hazel Poa in Parliament on Monday (Mar 7). She reiterated a call to the Ministry of Education to consider implementing a pilot 10-year through-train programme for primary and secondary school students, giving them a choice to bypass the PSLE. Ms Poa also asked about self-initiated learning in secondary schools, junior colleges and Millennia Institute. She wanted to know how many schools have implemented it and if so how, and what the outcomes have been.
