Under the Community Link (ComLink) programme, low-income families are matched to dedicated befrienders and get customised help to address their problems. NMP Shahira Abdullah said this will provide more timely and holistic care, but also seems "very resource-intensive”. She asked how befrienders’ competencies are ensured and how they are matched to beneficiaries. She also wanted to get a sense of what the indicators of short- and long-term success might be.
