Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 7: Eric Chua on support for adults with disabilities

23:32 Min

It can be a challenge for people with disabilities to find support after they graduate from special education schools. To close this gap, regional enabling services hubs (ESH) and enabling business hubs (EBH) will be piloted. ESHs will reach out to adults with disabilities to link them to the help they need, offer social and learning activities, and provide respite care to their caregivers. EBHs will assist those who can work but who need customised and longer-term support to do so. The pilots were announced by Parliamentary Secretary for Social and Family Development Eric Chua on Thursday (Mar 10). He spoke on what the ministry has been doing to support families with persons with disabilities, lower-income families and youths at risk.
