It is important that Singapore’s young national servicemen are adequately prepared to meet the challenges of the new economy even as they train to defend the nation, said MP Don Wee in Parliament on Monday (Feb 27). He asked for an update on the expansion of the Ministry of Defence’s Work-Learn Scheme for full-time national servicemen to more roles and vocations. Last year, another two schemes were announced - one for pursuing undergraduate degrees in the digital field and the other a diploma for supply supervisors.
